About SideGig Math
Free calculators for people who earn money on their own terms: freelancers, consultants, online sellers, creators and anyone with a side hustle.
Working for yourself means doing your own pricing, your own forecasting and your own bookkeeping. Most of that is simple arithmetic, but it is easy to get wrong in a spreadsheet at 11pm. Each tool here answers one practical question, such as what to charge per hour or how many sales cover your costs, and shows exactly how it got the answer.
How we build the calculators
- One question per tool. Every calculator is built around a single decision, with only the inputs that decision needs.
- The formula is always on the page. You can see each step and redo it on paper.
- Worked examples are checked. Every example in our articles is run through the calculator itself, so the numbers in the text and the numbers on screen always match.
- Fees and rates are dated. Tools that depend on platform fees or tax rates show when they were last updated, and are reviewed when the source changes.
Your data
All calculations run in your browser. The numbers you type are not sent to us or stored anywhere. The "copy link" button simply puts your inputs into the page address so you can save or share them.
What these tools are not
Results are estimates for planning. They are not financial, legal or tax advice, and they do not know your personal situation. For decisions with real consequences, confirm the numbers with the official source or a qualified professional.
